ABSTRACT

Objective To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate (MgIG) in the treatment of viral hepatitis based on clinical studies. Methods Searches were conducted in the databases of Cochrane, PubMed,Science Direct,CNKI,CMCI and Wanfang (until Dec.2016 since database setup) to identify randomized controlled tri-als (RCTs) evaluating clinical effects of MgIG vs Compound Glycyrrhizin(CG).Literatures according to inclusion and exclusion criteria were screened. All meta-analysises were conducted with RevMan version 5.3. Results A total of 3 790 patients enrolled in 32 studies were included in the meta-analysis.Firstly,the comparison of curative effect in two groups favors MgIG for the treat-ment of viral hepatitis[OR=2.87,95% CI=(2.29,3.61),P<0.000 01].Secondly,MgIG showed statistically significant benefit in reducing ALT [MD=-17.27,95%CI=(-28.87,-5.66),P=0.004],AST [MD=-14.18,95%CI=(-18.29,-10.08),P<0.000 01] and T-BiL[MD=-4.53,95%CI=(-6.38,-2.68),P<0.000 01].Lastly,comparative trials demonstrated a significant safety advantage of MgIG over CG [OR= 0.29,95%CI=(0.19,0.44),P<0.000 01]. Conclusion MgIG has a significant beneficial effect for the treatment of viral hepatitis by means of both decreasing transaminase and normalizing liver function.Fur-thermore,it is worth for the application in clinical use with less adverse drug reactions.

ABSTRACT

Graphene oxide (GO) modified stationary phase for open tubular capillary (3 m × 25 μm i. d. ) of liquid chromatography ( OT-CLC) was fabricated by coating GO sheets onto poly ( vinylbenzyl chloride-divinylbenzene) porous composite layer via covalent coupling, which was prepared by in-situ polymerization. Scanning electron microscopy ( SEM), Raman spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy ( TEM) were used to characterize the structure of the stationary phase. The results demonstrated that poly(vinylbenzyl chloride-divinylbenzene) porous composite layer had decentralized globular structure, and the GO sheets covered on the porous layer homogenously. The phase ratio and sample capacity were greatly improved due to the spherical polymer layer and the coverage of GO. Thus, alkyl benzenes, neutral polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, acidic and basic compounds could be well separated by using acetonitrile-water as eluent, while four nucleobases were completely separated by using acetonitrile-0. 02 mol/ L ammonium acetate as mobile phase. The run-to-run, day-to-day, and column-to-column reproducibilities were evaluated by calculating the relative standard deviations (RSDs, n =6) of the retention time of o-phenylenediamine, aniline and 2, 4, 6-trifluoroaniline, respectively. These RSD values were all in the range of 0. 3% -2. 0% .

ABSTRACT

The molecularly imprinted separating medium with halloysite nanotubes as carrier, which were environmentally friendly natural silica substrate nano-materials, aspirin as template molecule and acrylamide as functional monomer was synthesized using reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer polymerization. The template molecule and monomer were bound to stable composite at 1: 2 using the method of ultraviolet spectroscopy combined with Lamber-Beer theory at molecular level. The morphology and adsorption capacity of imprinted material was studied with Fourier transform infrared spectrometer ( FT-IR ) , transmission electron microscope ( TEM) , static adsorption and selective adsorption. The experimental results showed that a good uniformity of imprinted layer with the thickness of 38 nm was coated steadily on the halloysite nanotubes surface. Compared with the conventional surface imprinted material and the material with silica gel as carrier, our molecularly imprinted material had the characteristics of high adsorption capacity and favorable imprinted effect. Its imprinted factor achieved to 3. 5. The molecularly imprinted material was applied for mimetic intestinal juice diffusion experiment. The experimental results indicated that the imprinted material release the aspirin for 12 h, which was 2 times for non imprinted material for only 6 h, demonstrating excellent drug release result, which provided basic data for potential applications of drug carrier.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVEThis study aims to investigate the temporal pattern of expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and new bone formation during midpalatal suture expansion osteogenesis for rapid maxillary expansion.

METHODSA total of44 New Zealand white rabbits were randomly assigned to 11 groups, namely, five experimental groups, five control groups, and one control 0 group. A Haas appliance was used for the rapid expansion of the midpalatal suture; rapid expansion was set for 2 weeks and fixed for 4 weeks. The tissue of the maxillary midpalatal suture was harvested on the day of installing rapid expansion (control 0 group), on weeks 1 and 2 for rapid expansion, and on weeks 1, 2, and 4 for fixed (experimental group and control group, respectively). The immunohistochemical method was used to detect distribution and expression of VEGF, and new bone formation was observed with periodic acid-Schiff.

RESULTSHigher VEGF expressions are observed after midpalatal suture distraction osteogenesis. Positive staining for VEGF is mainly noted in the vascular endothelial cells, and the active osteoblasts are at the edge of a newborn trabecular bone. A weak VEGF expression is detected among cells in the control group. The VEGF expression of the experimental group is higher than that of the control group in rapid expansion weeks 1 and 2 and in fixed weeks 1 and 2. The expression of VEGF in the experimental group increases significantly and peaks at fixed week 1, and then gradually decreases. The amount of newly formed bone in the experimental groups is always higher than that in the control group; moreover, it increases significantly and peaks at fixed week 2, and then gradually decreases.

CONCLUSIONThe mechanical strain created by rapid maxillary expansion generates a sequence of VEGF cellular events that lead to increased vascularization and subsequent new bone formation.

ABSTRACT

An ultra high performance liquid chromatography-photodiode array detection-tandem quadrupole mass spectrometry ( UPLC-PAD-MS/MS) method was developed for the determination of total 13 flavonols and flavonol glycosides in red onion which including 6 quercetin and its glycosides, 4 isorhamnetin and its glycosides, 3 Kaempferol and its glycosides. The chromatographic separation was carried out by used a UPLC HSS T3 column and eluted under gradient with mobile phases of acetonitrile and water both contained 0 . 1%formic acid at a flow rate of 0. 3 mL/min. The results showed that the major flavonols and flavonol glycosides in red onion were quercetin-4’-glucoside, quercetin-3, 4’-diglucoside, quercetin and Isorhamnetin-4’-glucoside. The amounts and distributions of flavonols and flavonol glycosides among different parts of red onion were different. For the same amount of dry materials, the content ratio of total flavonols and flavonol glycosides in the outer two layers, the third layer and the inner layer was 60. 3:33. 0:6. 7, the amount of quercitin and its glycosides accounts above 92. 1% of total flavonols and flavonol glycosides for each part. In the outer two layers, the amount of flavonol monoglycosides are the highest, in the third layer, the amount of flavonol aglycones were the highest, but in the inner layer, the amount of flavonol diglycosides were the highest. Small amounts of Kaempferol and its glycosides were found in red onion, and mostly were found in outer layers. This method is simple, fast, accurate and convenient, and can be used to analyze flavonols and flavonol glycosides in onion product.

ABSTRACT

Objective To introduce ramified anterolateral femoral flaps pedicled with different musculocutaneous branches used for primary repair of soft-tissue defects at different regions of extremities. Methods From January 2008 to April 2009, 15 patients, 10 males and 5 females, were treated with an-terolateral thigh flaps for their soft-tissue defects at limbs which involved 4 hands, 6 feet and 5 legs and an-kles. Different shapes of anterolateral thigh flap were designed according to clinical anatomy and particular conditions of blood vessels and musculocutaneous branches in different cases. The flaps were ramified into 2 independent free flaps to repair 2 independent defects. The maximum distance between 2 defects was 8 cm. The area of defect ranged from 3.0 cm×3.5 cm to 8.0 cm×11.5 cm, and the flap area from 5.0 cm×5.0 cm to 9.0 cm×15.0 cm. Results According to clinical anatomy, the presence of sarco-cutaneous branches was 100%. The source blood vessel of the flaps was quadriceps artery of femur. The 15 patients were followed up from 3 to 8 months. The tissue grafts all survived and the flaps primarily healed at the recipient site. Revisions were done 3 weeks to 3 months after the primary operation to thin down the clumsy skin flaps in 6 cases, The shape and texture of the flaps were satisfactory. Conclusion Ramified anterolateral femoral flaps pedicled with different musculocutaneous branches provide an ideal way of repairing severe and complex soft-tissue defects at extremities.

ABSTRACT

FASS(field amplified sample stacking) is a technique for on-column enrichment in capillary zone electrophoresis. The distribution of solute in column during injection can be divided into two parts: the stack zone in running buffer and the sample solution zone imported by electroosmosis. Based on the investigation of transfer of solute in column, the results showed that the relationship between the length of two zone and injection time was nonlinear, so the relationship of injecting size that related with the mobility of solute and injection time. The increasing of the enrichment effect will not synchronize with the increasing of injection size, and the enrichment effect is decreased due to the laminar flow. To hold a basic constant column efficiency and desire enrichment effect, the ratio of mobility of solute in two zones should be maximum, and the injection time should also match with the ratio.
